Tuesday, September 30, 2008 Officially under way on our new life as “Full Timers”

Today we left our spot at Turner Marina in Annapolis. We are officially under way on our new life as “Full Timers” in the motor home.

Our first stop is the weigh station at the truck stop to see if we are over weight on the rig.  With out Debra in the rig we weigh 5600 lb on the steer axle and 11,300 lb on the drive axle, for a total of 16,900 lb. The recommended weights are 6,000 lb on the steer axle and 11000 lb on the drive axle, for a total of 17000 lb. So we will be over by 10 lb with Deb aboard, so we head to the Capitol KOA to move some weight around and spend the night.

We moved the tools further forward and dumped the tanks and that should put us in pretty good shape on weight. The weight of Fresh Water, Gray Water, Black Water tanks when full is 1502 Pounds, so we will try to travel with empty tanks. We will have to weigh the rig with empty tanks sometime to see how we are doing.
