Sunday, October 26, 2008 More ribs and Wind!

We got underway about 5:30 AM from Paducah, Kentucky. We stopped for lunch in Bates City, Missouri, just outside of Kansas City. We wanted to get some Kansas City style ribs for lunch. I found the Bates City Bar-B-Q on my map program and looked it up on the internet. It’s a small place in a small town with some great ribs!

The ribs at the Bates City Bar-B-Q where far better than the ribs I had for dinner last night from Outback.

After lunch, when we got on the road again, the wind was picking up. We found out that it was blowing steady at about 25 – 29 with gusts to 50. The Jeep was getting blown around pretty good. Deb’s arms will be tired tonight. We would have probably have stopped driving if we where in the motor home.

We get into Omaha about 5:00 PM. It’s cold! When I went out to pick up dinner it was about 30º and they are calling for a low in the 20s tonight.

And bye the way, I got a salad for dinner. I had had the ribs at Applebee’s before, and I guess a person could eat too many ribs.

Tomorrow should be an easy day. It’s only about 3 hours to Madison, SD from here and the winds are supposed to go away.
