Tuesday, October 28, 2008 Licenses, Tags, Wills, and Chislic
Well, we are now officially residents of South Dakota!
We got our Licenses, Tags, Wills; they will send the new Titles for the vehicles… Oh Yeah and we ate Chislic for dinner.
What a difference from the DMV in Maryland. The driver’s licenses took about 10 minutes, no waiting and $8.00. The tags and title took about 20 minutes, no waiting and about $150 for both vehicles. Awesome!
And Chislic for dinner! I think this is what made us official. We saw it on the menu and as usual, if we don’t know what something is, we order it.

Chislic is preparation of cubed red meat that is usually fried or grilled. It is relatively unknown outside of the state of South Dakota in the USA. The term, while non-specific to any particular meat or seasoning, generally describes wild game, deer, elk, antelope, goose, can even be beef, deep-fried and served hot on a skewer or toothpick. It was quite good and we feel like real South Dakotans.
Tomorrow we head back to South Carolina.
