Wednesday, October 29, 2008 Madison to Madison and Cheese

We are taking a slightly different route back to our camp. We are going from Madison South Dakota to Madison Wisconsin, then through Chicago, Nashville, stay for the night in Lexington and then on to the camp in Kinards South Carolina.

Here’s something interesting, the people who founded Madison, South Dakota originally came from Madison, Wisconsin.

And for future reference, Route 90 in Minnesota is a washboard. It would not be much fun in the motor home. I shot a short video of the truck n front of us.

The GPS told us we would be a little early for our check in at the hotel, so we decided to find a local restaurant for lunch. We did a search in the GPS (L and it found a place called Carlson’s Rustic Inn (or something) up by a lake. It was a nice side trip, but when we got there was a sign; “Thank you for a great 30 years”, the place was closed. If they had only stayed open for 31 years.

We turned around and went back to the interstate and had a terrible lunch at some family restaurant. The day was saved by the cheese shop we found on the way out of town. We loaded up on some Wisconsin cheddars. Dinner tonight will be wine and cheese in the room.

We got to the hotel about 4 something and we head for Lexington tomorrow.

Hey Bill, sounds like you are living the life now. Hey, I couldn't open the video of the washboard road on Rte90. It says it's formatted for PC only. Damn PC users! Congratulations to you two Maryland ex patriots. You got to post a picture with you and Debra at the Welcome to South Dakota sign. Happy trails.

Sorry about the video. I thought Macs could open anything

Good idea on that picture. I get it when we go back in the spring.

Marsha from NBC called the other day. She is looking for Inaugaration slaves.

It's too bad you won't be here with us. I mean who else would I want to spend time on a street corner with, waiting for some new "donkey elect"to drive by in a limo, while my nuts are slowly being freeze dried.

Honestly, you gave up all of this......

Maybe I will get to sit next to Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown again. What a treat!

Hopefully Mr. Obama has more of a "Pimp Hand" though, and gets Britney Spears. This way we can lite her head on fire and stay warm. There must be enough fertilizer in there to keep it going for a while.

It will be interesting to see what Mr. Obama does. My thinking is that he is just the quiet before the storm. Many things that have been in the background are going to start appearing like dog shit on a lawn while he is in office or just getting out of office.

    I'm moving to the Amazon.

What was I thinking? A chance to stand in the rain and snow, while freezing my ass off... I'll realy miss that... not!

The Amazon, a great choice! Which country?

That jungle is in a region that includes territory belonging to nine nations: Brazil (with 60 percent of the rainforest), Peru (with 13 percent of the rainforest, second after Brazil), Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia, Guyana, Suriname, and French Guiana.
