Tuesday, December 9, 2008 Door latch and Christmas Tree

We have been looking for a replacement latch for the door on the rig for a long time. We finally found one made by TRIMARK and ordered it from the RV Shop (www.rvshop.com ). The guy there, Bob McFarland, is great to work with and can find just about anything. Our latch is not what you find on most RVs. It’s like a latch on a car door rather than the kind you have on a house door. Good old Airstream, stronger is better!

The new door latch for the main door arrived today. Of course it was the wrong one.

I emailed Bob at RV Shop and he called back right away. The warehouse did not ship what he asked for. The correct part will be shipped out today with an RMA to return the wrong part.

After getting the latch project worked out, we get to have some fun putting up our Christmas Tree! With the passenger seat removed we have room for a bigger tree than we have ever had on the boat. We got the fire going in the fireplace, put some Holiday music on the stereo and decorated our tree. I put a little video on YouTube if you want to see the circus.

We think it came out very nice.
