Wednesday, April 22, 2009 Good Deal on the Site, Nice Place, and Sort of a Plan

I went to the camp office when we got up today to see how much the stay here was going to cost us. Since this is the only place around we will have to pay what ever they want.

It turned out the guy who runs the KOA was real nice. He gave us a 30% discount. I think it helped that we are on our way to work at a KOA in Maine. He was surprised we did not have any KOA vouchers. If you are traveling from work at one KOA to another, KOA gives you vouchers for free stays at KOA campgrounds. We don’t have any because this is our first time working at a KOA.

This was a very lovely Campground. We would for sure stay here again.

We went to lunch at a local dinner. I had some sliders and Deb had the barbeque chicken. The sliders where good but the chicken was awesome. They had a smoker out back they where cooking the chicken in and it was incredible.

We get back to camp and have no idea where we will be going tomorrow. As far as we know the rest of New England is closed until May 15th.

We are watching the local news and we see a story about the 43rd Vermont Maple Festival in St. Albans. So now we have a place to go! We have no idea where we will park while we are there.

There are two campgrounds in the area. I email and call them both and we find a Wal-Mart on the map in Burlington which is just south of St. Albans. We will hit the road in the morning and see what happens.
